We serve Goleta, Santa Barbara, and Montecito. We have some clients in Carpinteria who pay an additional out-of-service-fee.
Your swimmer needs to wear their bathing suit, goggles, and an optional swim cap. Please bring goggles with out the nose piece, no snorkeling goggles. This is so students correctly learn how to breathe in the water.
We practice with and with out goggles, so not a problem if you forget them the first day. We build swimmers who are confident and don't need to rely on goggles. Please leave nose pieces and ear plugs at home.
The average lesson includes floating, front glides, back glides, kicking practice, and arm movements. There are games and songs for young swimmers. Swimmers will retrieve dive toys. For more advanced swimmers, lessons include specific stroke work and stamina practice. We may work on dives and flip turns as well.
Yes, yes, and yes! Your child's fear shows how urgently they need formal lessons. However, some fear is healthy considering the potential dangers the water presents. We will work on this skill every lesson as it is essential in the learn to swim process.
Our founder has a Master's in Education and embeds best learning practices into the lesson curriculum. She knows how people learn, and uses it to progress their swimming skills. This is partially why swimmers learn and progress so quickly in this program.
It is not uncommon for a child to cry during swim lessons. A child can cry, learn, giggle, and have fun all within the same lesson. If your child cries, we suggest you take a walk. Your child looks to you for safety, and they need to learn to trust their instructor.
